guide to the “streets of Bacco” –
only a short trip away from Florence is possible to visit
most of the main Tuscany vineyards, like the winery of Antinori,
producer of supertuscan Tignanello and Solaia as well as a
fine Chianti, and the winery Frescobaldi, producer of the
famous Chianti Montesodi and other supertuscan.
Just a 2 hours ride separates Florence from Bolgheri where
one can find the illustrous Sassicaia, produced by Marchese
Incisa della Rocchetta, as well as the winner of the Wine
Spectator 1998: the Ornellaia produced by the Ornellaia winery.
Leaving Florence towards Greve in Chianti (S.S. 222) we reach
the area, between Florence and Siena, where Chianti Classico
Gallo Nero D.O.C.G is produced, getting the chance to visit
some of the main Italian wineyards where one can taste classic
wines like Sangiovese, Canaiolo, Merlot and Syrah.

Sassicaia and Ornellaia in the Alessi wine shop, just a
5 minutes walk away from Palazzo Ruspoli, that owns a large
selection of supertuscans and Sassicaia in particular. Two
of the main producers of prestigious wines are reachable
in little time. One is the winery Avignonesi, producers
of I.G.T. wines, Chianti and the Vin Santo Avignonesi, winner
of the Wine Spectator of 2 years ago. The other is the winery
Biondi Santi, of the Montalcino area, producers of the Rosso
